Brad Goreski known for bowties and Rachel Zoe is branching off on his own to show It’s a Brad, Brad World on the Bravo Network. Each episode goes behind the scenes of this stylist guru including his personal life.

We caught up with Brad right before the show aired.

Jerry Nunn: Hey, Brad. I have interviewed you a few times in the past.

Brad Goreski: I remember.

JN: I’ve supported you from the beginning of your career and now look at you. This show is very focused on your personal life as well as your style life.

BG: Yeah, it is. It’s very much balanced. The show is focused on my building my business and the lead role as stylist as opposed to in the assistant role the way I was on Rachel’s show.

JN: What is the difference between you and The Rachel Zoe Project?

Traci Lords

Traci Lords turned the porn world upside down at an early illegal age then broke into mainstream movies such as John Waters’ Cry-Baby.

She went on to gain “Control” of her career with a dance track of the same title that reached #2 on the Billboard chart.

Currently with a new movie called Excision and new song “Last Drag,” we caught up with her when she was recently in Chicago.

Jerry Nunn: Hi, Traci. Welcome to Chicago! Have you been able to try out some food in the city yet?

Traci Lords: I had some salmon downstairs in the hotel. It had capers and onions.

JN: I have some gum if you want.

TL: Is that a hint?

JN: No!

Paula Poundstone 3

Paula Poundstone has been performing stand-up most of her life. Since her first open-mic nights in 1979 the comedian has kept audiences rolling in the aisles. Dressed in a suit and tie her funny observations have led her to write a book and make a comedy CD entitled I Heart Jokes.

We talked to this classic funny woman before her upcoming show in Skokie.

Jerry Nunn: Hey, Paula. Good to see you are coming to town.

Paula Poundstone: Me too. I love playing in Skokie.

JN: I am glad to see that the show is closer to Chicago this time out.

PP: Skokie moved?

JN: No (laughs), but your other shows have been farther out in the suburbs. I will definitely be at this show.

PP: Oh great, come up and say hi!

Lily Tomlin 3

For decades Lily Tomlin has kept audiences rolling in the aisles. From the television on Laugh-in to movies with Meryl Streep such as a Prairie Home Companion, this multi talented performer always brings her characters to life.

Her roles on such shows as Damages and NCIS have continued to entertain a whole new generation of TV watchers.

Tomlin packs up her characters and heads to Skokie for two shows and we caught up to her to see what’s spinning in her universe.

Jerry Nunn: Hi, Lily. So how are you?

Lily Tomlin: Good, good.

JN: I’m excited to see you back in town.

LT: The last time I was there was for the benefit for Center on Halsted. Is Skokie that close to Chicago?

JN: Not too far, just north of the city. I thought I would bring you some Garrett’s popcorn, something very Chicago.

LT: (laughs) That’s a good idea. But what if it spills in your lap during the show?

Guinevere

Straight from the Arthurian legend, singer Guinevere brings her pop princess vocals to Chicago this week. The Canadian’s “Crazy Crazy” single is spinning on the dance charts meanwhile we found her riding on Backstreet Boy Nick Carter’s tour bus across the country.

JN: (Jerry Nunn) Hi, Guinevere. How are you?

G: (Guinevere) Good, a little hot at the back of this tour bus though.

JN: I’m so excited you are heading our way. You will be at House of Blues first with Nick Carter.

G: Yes, I can’t wait. That is going to be a big show. I have heard some great things about the House of Blues so I am excited to rock the stage!

JN: The space is amazing to play live in. Then you head to Roscoe’s Tavern right after that.

G: Are you going to be there?

Celina Polanco

In the Heights brings one cast member home on its nationwide tour. Celina Polanco plays Camila the mother of Nina Rosario who returns home herself in the barrio of Washington Heights.

In the Heights is a musical about three days in the lives of characters set in a New York Dominican-American neighborhood. Winning four Tony Awards after being nominated for 13 the show was also a finalist for a Pulizter Prize for Drama.

We talked to Celina the day of the Chicago debut.

JN: (Jerry Nunn) Hello, Celina. Welcome back to Illinois. You are originally from Naperville, correct?

CP: (Celina Polanco) I went to high school in Naperville. I am having a great time. It is wonderful to be back in the city.

JN: Where do you live now?

Gregory Haney

Many fans of the hit movie Bring It On about the champion high school cheerleading squad will be happy to know that it is the foundation for a musical made for the stage.

It’s going to be a catfight as the school rivalries compete to win in this new show.

Windy City Times spoke to Gregory Haney who plays the transsexual cheerleader La Cienega in this touring production. Gregory has taken over New York’s Broadway in Memphis and Tarzan as well as touring with smashes such as Cats and Wicked.

We tracked him down to the Lone Star State to find out how he plans on bringing it to the Windy City!

Jerry Nunn: Hi, Gregory. Where in the world are you?

Gregory Haney: I’m in Dallas, Texas.
