Latrice Royale

Always “large and in charge “Latrice Royale represented the big girls on RuPaul’s Drag Race season four on the Logo Channel.

She came out of the closet disclosing her checkered past on the show with a prison history and tough times. Her light shown through though, with a “chunky but funky” personality that kicked the competition to the curb making her a top four finalist.

This Florida “bold and beautiful” queen now travels around the country and finally heads to a new group of fans in the Windy City.

Jerry Nunn: Hey, Latrice. How are you?

Latrice Royale: I’m wonderful how are you?

JN: Great, I watched the whole season of course. Is this the first time you have been to Chicago?

Lady Bunny

Lady Bunny came from a small town in Tennessee to work the scene in New York as a drag queen. From Wigstock to Drag U this performer has served as judge, advisor and organizer to some of the best acts in the world. Bunny dishes on dance floor divas and hair before the upcoming Market Days weekend performance at Spin Nightclub.

Jerry Nunn: Hey, Lady. Very excited to see you back in Chicago.

Lady Bunny: Me, too. It has been a couple of years I think.

JN: You used to perform at Spin before it even had that name.

LB: It was called Foxys back then.

JN: Yes, it was.

LB: The old gal is still going!

Female impersonator Ongina ran the race with us for the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race on the Logo Channel. She schooled us with Drag U right after and came to town twice to shake a tail feather at Spin Nightclub. There is a serious side to the performer and in this exclusive interview Ongina sounds off about AIDS, drag and love. Here is his story behind the makeup of Ryan Palao.

Jerry Nunn: Hi, Ong. Did you watch the finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race at a party?

Ongina: No, I have full time job so I worked late. I came home, waited for my husband and watched the finale together. It was quiet night.

JN: What do you do?

O: I am a visual merchandiser for a specialty retail store. I have been with the company for five years.

JN: How long have you been with your partner?

Manila Luzon

Busy bee Manila Luzon is flying into town at Spin Nightclub this week and into our television sets once again on the Logo channel. Being the runner up for season three of RuPaul’s Drag Race was not enough as this disco queen is once more in the spotlight.

Jerry Nunn: Hey, Manila. What are you up to?

Manila Luzon: I am actually at the office. I work during the day.

JN: So you have a full time job working 9 to 5?

ML: Yes, on top of everything, I have a full time job. Isn’t that crazy?

JN: I don’t know how you do it!

Lady Bunny

Lady Bunny is the founder of Wigstock and an inspiration to many men who have donned a dress. Now she brings her knowledge to Drag U to school some new students.

Jerry Nunn: Hi, Bunion. I just discovered you’re from Tennessee!

Lady Bunny: I am.  I grew up in Chattanooga.

JN: Wow, I grew up in Hendersonville.

LB: Well, at least we made it out!

JN: I think when I first moved to Chicago, I saw you at a bar named Foxy’s, which is now called Spin Nightclub, doing an Yma Sumac song.
